Celebrating International Women’s Day: Kaleido’s Wonderful Women!

This year for International Women’s Day, we asked all of the women at ViCentra to come together for a group photo. We have so many wonderful, talented, skilled and powerful women on our team, and it felt like such a special occasion to get them all together: an opportunity to speak with them, hear their insights and praise their hard work and expertise.
So, without further ado, let’s get to know some of our power-women!

Name: Kathy
Role: Technical Complaint Investigation Lead

What is it like to be a woman working at ViCentra?
There are many great women leaders at ViCentra who I enjoy working with and learning from each day. It is encouraging to see women in high-power positions at ViCentra, and hopefully as we continue to grow as a company that number will increase further. For me, it’s important to work at an organisation where there are women role models from whom I can learn. It also highlights to me that the company values the presence of women, and gives me a goal to work towards in my career.

Name: Femke
Role: Kaleido Support Specialist

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received from a female mentor?
Perfection is not real, it’s a habit that’s holding you back!
To me, as a mum, it means that I might not be perfect in every aspect of my life, but I’m trying and working hard to do my best, and on some days, that’s enough!

Name: Rosario
Role: Design Quality Assurance Engineer

How should women support other women in their organisations?
One way to start empowering other women at work is to create mentoring programmes within our organisations.
You don’t have to be a manager or CEO to become a mentor: the knowledge and experience you have so far could be a game-changer for those who are just starting out. Likewise, the obstacles you faced at the beginning of your career are likely to be similar to those of the women you will be mentoring.

Name: Paulie
Role: Inside Sales Specialist

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received from a female mentor?
To be myself, to speak up, and to see the strengths and qualities that I bring to the workspace. And not to be too critical of myself.

She always provided me with honest and open feedback which allowed me to grow further and develop my strengths and qualities.

Name: Cari
Role: Regulatory Affairs Associate

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received from a female mentor?
If you are trying to reach a goal,  start with small steps. They will take you a long way. Don’t be scared to ask for help if your first step seems too big to even attempt it.
